I'm not sure how themes work. If it's something other users see, I could see eliminating queer Marxist identities as a way to de-politicize themes.

True. I don't use Facebook either, so I'm not sure. My first impression was it was just the for the user who selected it, but maybe other people see your theme when they message you? IDK

Personally I would still consider that a good thing, great warning I shouldn't waste time talking to them... but I guess it does make a little more sense if it's something more public like that.

Themes are just the background you apply to your Messenger conversation screens, like wallpaper. Interestingly you can use Meta AI to create customized themes, so it's not like you can't Troon out in any flavor you like. Plus, they kept the original Pride theme.

That's interesting if they can use custom themes. It would be super easy to just share a trans theme. It's also a bit weird to wait until right now to remove them. It's basically like announcing you hate these people and were waiting for the politically convenient moment. It essentially costs nothing to leave their custom wallpapers in.
