It's pretty easy to deal with such information when you don't give a fuck about ancestral guilt or whatever and you believe the sins of the parents need not be burdened on their children.

I reckon that most if not all people on earth could trace their ancestry back to a slave owner somewhere. I mean hell can't 1% of the population of the Earth trace their ancestry back to good ole Ghengis Khan anyway?

It's why the reparations muppets never go after anyone but Western European-descended white people, as that's the only group that ever made the mistake of apologizing for their past behavior. Asians, Arabs/Muslims, Hispanics, and especially Africans themselves? No apologies, not a lick of guilt, and they'll laugh the reparationists right out of the conversation (if they even acknowledge them to start with).

Never apologize for something you didn't do. And never apologize when you've not done something wrong.

Is slavery wrong? I think so. I should apologize for what people did a hundred years ago? No. Go ask them to apologize, oh wait you can't because they are dead. Well guess they don't matter anymore huh?

and the whole mess of Louisiana people of color (i.e., not "black") or Cherokee having slaves; and in Brazil a slave would rather buy another slave than be freed since he'd have to send just as much sugarcane anyways

And the elephant in the room people's own facts ignore: "because of all the rape by masters to their slaves and the amount of immigration in the late 1800s, it is significantly more likely that the average black person would be descended from slave owners than the average white person would be.

I think the slaves, and maybe even the first generation of their children should definitely have received reparations.

But the window for that closed over a century ago. The slaves are dead, and the slave owners are dead. Civil rights are in place, affirmative action did its thing, and there's nothing left to repair. The black people who have taken advantage of the overwhelming race-based opportunities afforded to them in the U.S. are thriving like never before and this overpaid trash TV bitch is living proof.

The ONLY black people left who are doing poorly in this country are either just too fucking dumb to succeed or are entrenched in a thug culture that shames them for succeeding at anything except crime and Gangsta Rap.
