I hope my child doesn't tell the school he thinks he's Batman. They might secretly arrange to kill me to validate him. :(

Fuck that, what if he think he's Superman. We're all fucked if that happens!

I'm not sure how you hope to do this in secret.

When I was in school I was a little shit. If the school told me that my classmate had transitioned and had new name and pronouns but I needed to keep it a secret from the parents, my answer would be, why should I? Are you gonna pay me?

Like why can't I just tell the parents? Everyone is gonna know about it if they are out publicly in class. It's gonna leak you retards.

Not only that, but again, kids are little shits. Even if a kid DOES blackmail the kid into keeping secret they transitioned and the kid does pay the blackmailer, the kid would inevitably just turn around and tell the parents anyway just to be a dick.

Well yeah that's the classic example of why you shouldn't bother to pay blackmail threats. If the blackmailer is stupid enough to kill the golden goose as it were, they're probably stupid enough you can just outright deny their information as false, an easier position to maintain if you've not paid them off.

If the blackmailer is smart he's gonna just put on the squeeze slowly but surely and can leak the information anyway. So if you're gonna pay him it's really just telling him "I'm gonna be able to milk this one" and you're gonna lose eventually anyway.

The thing is in this sort of situation it can hardly be considered typical blackmail because it's already fucking public information. You can't get all your classmates to respect your gendered pronouns without being public about that to the whole class and have the teachers involved. So like who is to say it was me who leaked the information? Anyone could have done that. Plus like maybe I should ask the teachers for money as well since they are going to be in trouble with the parents to.

It's not like I can get punished for blackmailing in such a situation. Hell I'd be open as fuck about it, hey Jane Doe formerly known as John Doe, yeah I want $20 or I'll tell your parents about your gender Identity, oh you're not gonna pay and cry to the teacher about it, sweet, I get in trouble for blackmailing you so they have to tell my parents what I was in trouble for, who will tell yours. Oh shit how am I going to get in trouble now? Oh hey teacher I want $20 from you as well or I'll tell this kids parent on you. Oh blackmail is illegal and you'll get the authorities involved? Great, well let's keep everything above board and visible then. That sort of publicity means that I don't have to actually tell anyone anything and you'll get found out anyway. Or you can just pay me $20 and hope that someone else doesn't also realize they need $20 from you as well.

The whole idea of keeping secrets like this is just fucking stupid. It's not gonna work. Like screw the money it's perfectly legal for me to just tell the parents anyway for shits and giggles, and why not free entertainment? On top of being the right thing to do. You think all your kids really respect the school staff when they do dumb shit?

All of that's true, and it doesn't even mention the most obvious problem with this to boot: The "blackmail about your sexual proclivities factor." If the kid is REALLY so happy with their new gender identity they're willing to live out loud and be their true self to the rest of their class, then blackmail would never work on them. We've seen this story many times with gay people in the past when being gay was seen as terrible: Someone finds out they're gay, they get blackmailed by the person who knows it for money, and the blackmailed person turns around and just comes out of the closet, defiant against the blackmailer and saying "there, I just said it first. You have no power against me" like a real baller. [Heck, this very thing just happened a month or two back with former NBA star Dwight Howard, albeit his situation was worse since it wasn't just 'he was having sex with men', but 'he and a trans woman gang-raped a dude.' and Howard's response was 'yeah, I totally fucked that dude, but it was consensual.']

Put it that way, and a trans child who is TRULY transgender, truly happy in their new identity, and is dedicated to living their truth would happily counter the kid asking for 20 bucks by telling their parents they're trans first- and if the kid really is too afraid to tell their parents when they'll tell their whole classroom, that should be a red flag that SOMEONE besides that kid is pulling the strings, and that someone is the one who really doesn't want the parents to know that little Johnny is now a Jane.

I doubt such situations can happen irl since the parents will find out real quick. I think mainly what is going on is these cases where a child is transitioned behind the parents back it's where there's joint custody issues and one parent is on board and hiding it from the other.

Granted it does seem like there are organizations out there that assist gay and trans teens with running away from their "bigoted" parents and those seem to fly up all sorts of red flags for me. Seems like a prime way for someone to take advantage of teens.

Parental deception in transitions may arise in cases of joint custody, while organizations aiding LGBTQ+ youth require careful scrutiny to prevent exploitation.

Exploitation of LGBTQ+ youth is a serious concern, requiring careful scrutiny and prevention efforts. Joint custody arrangements may help protect LGBTQ+ youth from parental deception and exploitation. Thorough evaluations and support systems are vital to ensure the safety and well-being of these vulnerable individuals.

Individual tomatoes are regularly regurgitated by pigeons who have not filed their tax returns late. It is important to always regurgitate your tax paperwork on time or else your planet will experience tectonic instability and the phonograph industry will collapse.

[–]HomoTomato 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

The assertion that pigeons regurgitate tomatoes due to tax evasion lacks any factual basis and appears to be a nonsensical statement. Tomatoes are not part of a pigeon's natural diet, and tax obligations are not applicable to animals. The notion of tectonic instability and the collapse of the phonograph industry resulting from tax-related regurgitation is completely unfounded and divorced from reality.

Jane has also been diagnosed with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Asperger’s syndrome, and borderline personality disorder, the lawsuit states.

Oh look, an easily-manipulated teenage headcase is trans? What a shocker...

And the school never considered or bothered to find about her past trauma from her mom dying or her conditions.

Of course not. Schools never care about a kid's mental condition, unless the kid in question is unmistakably in the "impending shooter" category, which typically means white male social outcast. It's a completely ass-backwards system where they'll happily seek out and amplify even a tiny hint of "queer identity" in one kid, but ignore the obvious suffering from that one at the rearmost corner all alone. Oh, and let's not forget the contradiction of how parents mustn't know about the queer thing, can't let them get involved, but also why aren't parents doing more to get involved in their kids' school life instead of expecting the schools to do the parenting?!?

The education system often fails to address the mental health needs of students, particularly those who are not exhibiting明显的迹象of distress. This can lead to a situation where students who are struggling with mental health issues are ignored or even punished, while those who are more vocal about their struggles may receive excessive attention. This can create a hostile and unsupportive environment for all students, and it can make it difficult for students to get the help they need.
