Ah, yes the bastion of homophobia the drama department of a university!

BUT, you can't have drama without drama queens.

It may be a joke, but ten to one this all started because the professor wouldn't cast this person in the role they wanted to be in the campus play- or DID cast them, but it didn't lead to them instantly becoming a megastar.

It's all about people making up their fake special identity for special treatment and then whining about how nobody will give them special treatment.

How were your rights infringed? What "rights" exactly do non-binary people have that aren't protected just as well as normal people? The right to be called "they" who gives a fuck? I've had professors who didn't like me intentionally use the wrong gender pronouns as some attempt to bully me, like whatever I don't give a single fuck, it only makes you look dumb.

Well, the answer to how their rights were infringed was your first question: It's not about equality, equity, or supremacy, it's about personal glory. It's about them demanding that they are special because they decided they're special, and demanding that the world raise them up on a pedestal and give them their every minor whim fulfilled the second they want it- and it's most inherent with non-binaries even more than trans people (since the very nature of being non-binary is to say "well, most people are either a man or a woman by nature, but not me because I'm so SPECIAL there's no box you can put me into, and you have to specifically consider me and only me as well whenever you make any decisions.")

Yeah it's sociopathic behavior. I think a lot of these sociopaths latched onto the trans identity before, before that it was latching onto the gay identity by pretending to be bisexuals, and before that, hell I met plenty of christian sociopaths trying to claim religious persecution back in the 90's and early 2000's.

I think they latch onto whatever identity allows them to basically grab those victim points and play the crowd so they can socially convince people to dogpile on the "assholes" who see the shit for what it is and won't put up with the bullshit. It works until they reach critical mass and everyone realizes hey the assholes were right all along, then they gotta find a new identity to colonize.

Yeah its the prof that is suing because the drama whore won...try and read the article and not just the headline...

I personally hope the Prof wins.

“I was misgendered every single time Richard referred to me,” Caciola said. “As this went on, more and more people politely corrected him, and he became huffy and indignant,” Caciola recounted.

This shit again. "Politely corrected" my ass. There's nothing correct about it.

People act like if you refuse to use someone's pronouns then it's a personal attack and you're terrible. "Be respectful!" "It's common courtesy!" "The first time is okay, but if you keep misgendering you're a dick!"

I'm sorry but no. The real assholes in this scenario are the people who insist the rest of us have to start believing something that's clearly not in line with reality, and then adjust our language to fit. Hell no; nobody has any obligation to do that, and if they don't indulge in alternative pronouns it's probably not because they're phobic or hate trannies or anything like that, it's simply because they are a staunch realist who isn't comfortable pretending to believe bullshit.

If any of these trannies could produce evidence more reliable than inner anecdotes like "because I say so" or "it's my lived experience" then maybe things would be different, but they can't, so they can fuck right off with their pronouns.

There's a fine line you can cross where things actually turn into harassment. But I'd argue that making up pronouns and demanding people call you that constitutes harassment itself.

Like if someone says "I prefer if people call me Zorpflaq" they're entitled to that opinion. I'm inclined to call people by whatever name they prefer to be called by if they aren't otherwise insufferable, I'm inclined to refer to people by what gender pronouns they prefer as well just to prevent needless bullshit, but the instant you go into forcing people to do it, I think it goes hard into harassment territory. Like what if I demanded my preferred pronouns were "Fag" and "Nigger", are there going to be any people who accept that? Clearly not, they'll very rightly claim that such a request is basically harassment. So I don't really see why the same courtesy should be applied to people who want to use non-standard identities. If you wanna be called "they" instead of he or she I don't really care. I'm gonna keep calling you whatever makes me feel the most comfortable. But I'm not going to like insult you to your face or treat you differently than anyone else. But if you're insufferable about your gender identity or whatever I can be insufferable about how gender identity is bullshit and doesn't really exist and I don't tolerate people who want to use it to get special treatment. You're a girl so you need extra accomodations on your math test? No girls can do math just fine. You're a boy and you refuse to cook, lol ok starve to death then dumbass, you're a non-binary and you can't stand not being the center of attention, you're an adult not a theybie, everyone gets treated the same here.

"Please don’t expect to be ‘safe’ from exposure to ideas or expressions that might be counter to your own views. You will best be served if you approach this class experience with an open mind and a loving respect for freedom of thought and speech.”

Caciola perceived this as a direct challenge to their identity and the identities of other queer students."

These kind of people have no place in a University.
