Somehow I doubt they can just take whatever she was contractually entitled to.

Yeah. It’s why people got annoyed at the film The Joker because it used infamous paedo Gary Glitter’s music in one of the iconic scenes (the staircase scene IIRC) and he therefore made large sums of money from it.

Hopefully not, but label contracts aren't necessarily known for being fair to artists.
