Debate is shut down and viewpoints are disregarded on the basis that you are merely ‘cis’. I have even been called a ‘cissy faggot’, even though I am straight. This demonstrates the homophobia that is so often embedded within the trans-activist movement

For some reason i always thought that James Esses was gay, i guess i literally just personified the American stereotype where we can't tell the difference between British or gay, lol...

Second thing, this part is just another piece of evidence that gender ideology is a religion. I used to try the old atheist debates Christian in YouTube comments sections and they would do the same thing to me. I was somewhat well read on biblical stories considering I was raised Catholic and endured catechism. Basically "here's your argument and here's where your Bible says the exact opposite thing." These people absolutely refused to accept anything related to a logical or scientific argument and would just throw common religious phrases or out of context bible verses at you. So i would fall back to quoting the full paragraph of the Bible quote which clearly refuted their claim. In that case they would say that an atheist was not allowed to use a religious argument or quote the bible to them even though that was the only form of argument they accepted.

For years now, proponents of gender ideology have sought to change the language we use. They have attempted to change how we understand ‘man’ and ‘woman’. They have pushed the concept of ‘preferred pronouns’, under which an individual can demand to be referred to using the pronouns associated with his or her ‘self-identified’ gender.

Short for ‘cisgender’, ‘cis’ is a term used by proponents of gender ideology to refer to those who ‘do not identify as trans’ – or, to use more long-winded jargon, those ‘whose gender identity corresponds with the sex registered for them at birth’. In other words, the overwhelming majority of the population.

I don't mind cis so much, even though it's stupid for it to exist. Its when they try to change words like "mother" to "birthing people" push using they/them in ways that make language confusing that gets me. To me, at least Cis started out as a neutral term and they came up with it themselves, rather than bastardizing existing language for once.

It’s imposing a label on you, whilst simultaneously demanding you accept their self-determined labels. It’s completely unnecessary as the word “normal” already exists, is correct and applies to 99.9% of people. The term cis is a powerplay.

They're hypocritical assholes for sure and I would never call myself Cis. It just isn't the hill I want to die on when they have so many more egregious offenses.

You don't need to "fight" them over this. Just don't refer to yourself as that. If needed, use the word "sex" instead of gender.

If they call you cis, they can tall a trans man a man and a trans woman a woman.

You sure you want that? What if you stumble upon a """woman""" on tinder? It will be impossible to have a case of rape attempt in court at that point.

I see your point. "Woman" should by default mean biological woman. My thought is that there are people who are generally supportive of trans issues who may be open to changing their mind if you point out the problems with it. Seeing people get bent out of shape over the term "cis" and call it a slur without further explanation, which seems to be fairly common, makes our side seem oversensitive at first glance and it may make them take us less seriously when it comes to things trans are pushing for that are more obviously an issue, like allowing them in women's sports and dressing rooms. This goes especially for young people who have grown up being taught that cis a general non-offensive descriptor and see it as a just a normal word like "tall" or "brunette".

Yes. It made it so I would accept if other people called themselves cis, but I would specifically ask to not refer to me as cis otherwise I would not engage with them. It has worked so far and even this simple act already sends a strong message across and make them think it over... "why this person doesn't like using the term cis for themselves?"

Ellon's stance is pretty clear that you can not use cis if people don't want to. He doesn't care queer circles use cis between themselves since it's not harassment.

I'm part of the ace spectrum and wouldn't call other people allos because it's a term we use for ourselves to help understand things. They go complaining "allonormativity" and I have to bash reality to them, it's complicated I get it.

We have to choose our fights.

Politely asking people not to call you cis while tolerating them using it themselves is a really rational way to handle it. Its fine for groups of people to have their own terms to use amongst themselves. The issue with the trans movement is that they are aggressively trying to force the entire world to conform to ways that should be kept within their inner circle. Wanting everyone to ignore biological sex in real world situations is their worst offense, but pushing everyone to cater to them in language isn't okay either.

It's why they will never "win" (whatever the hell that means for them) and when they don't win their stupid fights they kill themselves because apparently accepting them is not enough we also need to change our whole culture around their dictionary and have sex with them because "genital preference is transphobic".
