I wonder if any of them understand (or care, if they do) that they're effectively confirming what every staunch opponent of gay rights loudly claimed would be the end result of passing gay rights into law.

I was thinking about this, within the context of the song by the SF Gay Men’s Choir, and several ideas come to mind and none of them are that they’re actual paedophiles.

  1. They are singing/chanting because they enjoy winding up those who are suspicious of them. They’ve given up making an effort at compromise and now they’re just laughing at anyone who gets upset - seems foolish to me and I’m sure it makes gay people in less safe environments nervous.

  2. They’re pulling a power play. They’re demonstrating that they can pretty much say (and possibly, do) anything and the media, if it even bothers to report it, will back them.

  3. They’re mistaken, they thought that we had all agreed that jokes about other people’s children are funny - and don’t realise that saying that to most parents could result in your needing dentures for the rest of your life.

  4. Similar to 2. they think they’re untouchable and can say anything they like and get away with it because they’re either protected or no one would dare do anything (refer to 3.).

  5. They are massive, massive cunts.

  6. They are used to their echo chambers online and offline and have no idea what the world is like for the vast majority of people. They are so self-absorbed that they think that their existence is of concern to everyone and attention is what they crave.

It may be a combination of those, but probably #3 the most. A decade ago when same sex marriage was the big thing and public opinion was well past the idea that gay men were pedophiles, this song could have been easily be understood as mocking people who still believed it. Now though, hoo boy. It's remarkable how fast the gender cult brought us back to a place where this doesn't sound like a joke anymore.

Yeah. I agree it's very unlikely the vast majority are actual pedophiles (there are pedophiles who will take this as a carte blanche that it's fine to pursue children though).

Overall, I think they're retarded, but this is what I think of basically anyone who goes to rallies. Someone somewhere introduced this chant probably because they thought it was funny. Or maybe they are expert trolls, regardless nobody is smart enough to sit back and realize that it totally harms their movement.

Though while I'm generally supportive of gay people who want to get married themselves (it's not like we should legislate cohabitation anyway). I've long held that the movement has kind of blundered forward with a dangerous abandon that will create backlash. Like with the wedding cake lawsuits and what not. Or with the courts forcing red states to perform gay marriages.

Thing is whenever this sort of thing happens it makes people resentful. And that's not what you want. And the longer the activist nonsense goes on the worse the backlash will become.

I agree, and

7) They're in New York City, and most of the nonsense comes out of these islands of hyper-progresssive wokeness along with San Francisco.

And when the rest of us relatively normal, boring LGB people tell them to stop it, they accuse us of being self-hating Nazi collaborators. They absolutely refuse to accept that they could ever go too far.

There's this kind of stupid attitude I've seen a bunch of people take. "I shouldn't have to regulate my behavior just because some crazy bigots disapprove" and right, alright to a point that is true, but if you're like "Hey guys look at this funny joke where I say I'm coming to make their kids gay!" You need to step back and not be an idiot because it actively hurts your cause. Like if you're having a rally against affirmative action in school admissions you're not going to want to set up a Krazy Kids Klub where the kids dress up like ghosts to represent the lost opportunity of their lives.

I think the impulse behind a lot of this is just the impulse to "rebel" or be oppositional for the sake of feeling rebellious because that's the "spirit of Stonewall." They don't stop to think about whether or not it's really a good idea. They just want that neurotransmitter hit of excitement.

[–]LyingSpirit472 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Even more than rebelling because it's the spirit of Stonewall, I think it's a different overarching point: These are kids raised on a diet of YA novels who ultimately have a Harry Potter/Katniss Everdeen fetish, and they're finding out that there was enough equality in the world that they have basically equal rights to their "other".

And that fact MAKES THEM SICK. Literally, they get physically ill knowing that all the grunt work has been done for their equality and they'll never get to be that lone wolf fighting off a world against them with no one on the side of good except a small number of like-minded friends [none of whom are as important as THEM], where they will eventually win to stand triumphant as the greatest hero of their group's- nay, ALL OF HUMAN- history.

Therefore, because of the fact the world has equality and they found out in an equal world, you'll cease to be special, it is to their own personal benefit to fight against equality. So, they try to push the line of equality to a point where any reasonable human being would push back and refuse it, with the goal of making inequality happen again until they can jockey into a position of power and can fight for equality again, solely so THEY get to be Harry Potter destroying all the Nazis and those icky people in the middle who are Thanos killing half the babies, so that they'll be the one they make statues of and name high schools after in 50 years.

they've been "affirmed" so many years by everyone they interact with--academia to Twitter and the ACLU--that their brains are pure silly putty, and their own crowding-out of mannish gay guys, non-dick-sucking lesbians, and dysphoric trans women from the rainbow that they don't even remember what being a "minority" even means: they're small fish, but they managed to drain their pond

they're like those 3-lb. dogs with the bulging braincase that go nuts incessantly and scream for 5 hours because somebody walked by their balcony and they can't see that they're gone but they heard footsteps, then charge a laid-back actual dog or get carried off by sparrows

If you watch the video very carefully you can see that they switch from chanting "coming for your children" to "not going shopping." The woman with her breasts out is one of the last to switch and when she does she makes eye contact with the person next to her and grins like they are sharing a joke. The last person to visibly keep chanting about children is the woman with the grey pouffy hair. She switches her chant after another woman comes up on her left and takes her hand.

It seems to me like they had preplanned to switch chants under certain circumstances. Possibly due to noticing that they were being filmed or maybe they were approaching an area where they were less confident about chanting about children.

Then comes the "it was only a joke" damage control, which only their side can get away with - imagine the outrage if someone who, say, disagreed with BLM made a racist joke - they'd get dogpiled immediately and cancelled. But the modern left can joke about doing all sorts of evil things and the response is "lighten up, it's only a joke".

Except at least 10 of them were identified as convicted paedophiles within a day of posting the video. And those are just the ones who have been convicted.
