Or she's claiming that because it's the only thing that she can think of that might see her ass not getting locked up. Which isn't any less stupid, of course, because the judge would have to be a certified window licker themselves to accept it.

Definitely plausible. But it's like the "I'm only pretending to be retarded" meme. If you pretend to be stupid to get out of trouble, you aren't pretending.
