I don’t think the case is a hope in hell of succeeding if it comes to court, but I think it’s demonstrative of the mindset - they will stop at nothing, and do not care about the potential harm they might cause.

No surprise that someone from Stonewall--the CEO, in fact, who looks like a guy as well if that's them in the bottom picture--is in support of a man being able to legally maul women.

While I think you're right, and a catastrophic injury won't be enough to stop this shit, I think that an asset-clearing lawsuit from the injured person (or their family, if they're no longer functional) might be the trick. Sue the troon player directly, sue their team/club, sue the league, and sue anyone else who had the ability to stop this before it happened, but didn't because they were too scared or brainwashed to challenge the troon lies.

Lawsuits don’t work that way in the UK, you are only awarded damages that actually tally with the damages you have suffered. So they have calculations for things like losing an eye or requiring 24hr care for the rest of your life, and that’s all you get; there are no punitive damages in UK courts and you can declare bankruptcy as a result of a judgement so unless there’s an insurance company involved you might not get much from an individual unless they own a house or something.

Nancy Kelly, the CEO of Stonewall, is a woman…but she’s most happy to throw her fellow women under the troonmobile.

Huh, TIL. I suppose that's not all bad though, since it would keep fuckwits from throwing out suits looking for a payday.

Yeah, I think it is a fairly reasonable system, especially in a country where healthcare is provided as required, so there are no medical bills to pay and if you actually require 24 hour care that will be provided for you (private care is available too, and what you would pay for if given an award by the court).

In a country without that sort of health and social care system and with potentially astronomical medical bills, you probably want to be able to sue for huge sums, if only to be able to agree a settlement that covers the bills.

Well, there's your problem. You think their response to "you will maim one of the women you're playing" is anything but "don't threaten me with a good time".

Oh I am pretty certain a catastrophic injury would at least stop HIM. But it is very illegal, unless the universe bless us with an accident.
