In my opinion, it's more like a religion than a regular non-contagious delusion. Gender is made up, just like souls, sin and so forth, so most of their beliefs aren't actually falsifiable. If you believe you can fly, you will be quickly proven wrong as soon as you jump off the roof, but if you believe you're "really a woman, despite having a penis", this doesn't actually mean anything so it can't be proven or disproven.

Being "really a woman, despite having a penis" is a contradiction, since by definition women don't have penises. That's why the TRAs have been trying to change the definition.

The act of believing it may not be falsifiable, that is, a man can say he believes he's a woman, and we can't prove he's bullshitting. But we can indeed disprove the factual accuracy of his belief by simply looking at his body, or failing that, giving him a chromosome test.

How is blinding yourself because you feel like you should be blind or riding a wheelchair because you feel like you should be paralyzed any different from cutting your dick or tits off because you "feel" like you're in the wrong sex?

I think the concept of the TRA ideology is different in a sense because it's rooted in asking the right questions but they come to the exactly incorrect conclusions.

It's like questioning "should we investigate 1+1?" But instead of looking at the question and saying "2" they start saying the answer is "11".

It's important to question gender in society and progress to the point that people aren't stuck operating within strict hierarchal gender roles. A woman who wears pants doesn't make her any less of a woman. That's incredibly sexist. Same for men wanting to do something stereotypically feminine. The issue with the TRA movement is they ask this question about breaking gender norms but then come to the conclusion that a woman wearing pants is actually a man, etc.

They get in your face and cram it down your throat.

Can you imagine if flat earthers did that? They would be slapped down in 15 seconds.

Obviously it's a cult-like thing. We all know this. The real question is why it's spreading like a plague. What caused this sudden increase in mysoginy and homophobia among the population?
