She wants what she cannot have. All she has to do is look pretty and be nice, and a lot of straight and bisexual boys her age would be interested in her.

I think the reality is that if a load of gay men did pursue her like they do each other she'd be terrified. This stance is a great way for her to pretend she's open and available, that she's cool, when really she is scared of intimacy and sex.

Well, it may not totally be just that, but that she's finding out gay men aren't the same as the "two hunky guys who like to fuck each other" BL/yaoi series that's the same thing as male-focused all-girl porn, and she's finding out that "finding two hot, handsome, Chad-esque dudes who are banging each other to fluff themselves before double-teaming a fujoshi" is exactly as unrealistic for a woman to expect as a man to expect the equivalent to happen.
