“Parents”

They mean the children’s mothers. It’s almost always the mothers.

Yeah, Münchausen’s Syndrome by Proxy/Factitious Disorder Imposed on Another is 93% female. Whereas, Münchausen’s Syndrome/Factitious Disorder Syndrome is 65% female (and largely middle-aged).

The NHS is fairly keen on identifying people with FD as they are a drain on resources.

I've seen cases of fathers leading the way with it. My ex husband is a minor-ly well known male feminist who is full on TWAW and extremely into 'protecting trans kids' in a way that means transitioning them socially, medically and ultimately surgically. I suspect a huge part of him would be only fucking delighted to have the notoriety of being dad to a trans child.

I'm not disputing that Munchausen's and Munchausen's by Proxy are mostly female disorders. There are numerous mental disorders that are significantly more prevalent in one sex or the other. This is clearly one of them. But it's also the case that mothers are overall more likely to be the primary carer of their children and have more scope to influence them. If a mother is hell bent of transitioning her child, that's probably what's going to happen. Especially if she's a single parent with majority or full custody. On the other hand if it's the dad that's on this train they won't necessarily be able to exert the same influence over their child. Especially if the mother actively opposes it.

Parents of children as young as three were fabricating stories that their toddlers were transgender, a former psychiatrist at the Tavistock child gender clinic claims.

Dr Az Hakeem worked at the controversial NHS clinic for 12 years until 2012 and said he expressed concerns the procedures followed by staff 'were mad', describing Tavistock as a 'transing factory'.

'You had three-year-olds coming in... I saw these parents who had a son but wanted a daughter or the other way around... the parents were saying ''Johnny never looked like a boy so we've changed his name and put on a wig'',' he said.

Dr Hakeem said there was an overrepresentation of grieving parents who had lost a child, only to become pregnant again.

He compared the behaviour of parents to Munchausen by proxy disease, in which a caregiver makes up symptoms in order to create an illusion that their child is sick, calling it 'Transhausen by proxy'.

This could be very bad for the pro-trans medical community, what is being claimed by this psychiatrist amounts to medical professionals either being systematically duped by abusive parents due to their ideological beliefs or even worse professionals assisting/conspiring in the abuse of children. This should trigger a police investigation.

Should, but won't, simply because I want to see how big the difference of "people who have a son but wanted a daughter" is to vice-versa.

It seems like the Venn diagram of 'Should I have a daughter or a rapist abusive scumbag who is literally, inherently evil!' and "Mommy wanted a pretty little girl who'd grow up to be her best friend and it's so MEAN she had to give birth to a yucky boy...well, looks like I have to take matters into my own hands' is a circle.

I place much of the blame on the hospital administration. They basically hold hostage the careers of their staff and are more willing to set up questionable policies to pull funding into the clinic. They also use it as a way to self aggrandize their own accomplishments. It becomes a positive feedback loop. Create kids who need to be transed, require more funding, require more staff, require bigger salary for managing more staff, use salary to imply your own knowledge and importance, insist on more capacity at the clinic to bring in more kids... Repeat.
