How are there so many of these? Is this Astroturfing? Because it looks like that's the case. It will generate talk because it's both unbelievable and at the same time appears to have consensus, like ragebait. What would be the purpose of making it seem like this is an accepted, popular opinion?

The destruction of society so they can bring about a Marxist utopia where they imagine the will sit at the top of the tree.

Read about culture wars in pre communist China and Russia. This is no different. Your republic is being subverted on purpose.

I think that's it...

why would it be astroturfing? lol they organically need this delusion to be true

[–]Newzok 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (10 children)

Nah. There's real cognitive dissonance in this; too stupid to be a believable position for any group to hold, even for radicals. Perhaps one or two morons get swept up. But when you see an idiotic opinion be pushed by a big group of insistent people, beware. People are not this stupid. Buttons are being pressed.

no dude, the incentive for these people to lie to themselves is to convince themselves of the lie. there is no ulterior motive more important than that. it is hard to believe, but just like Q or flat earth or any other phenomenally stupid contingent of people, they're serious. and that's way scarier than astroturfing.

I think at the end it becomes a mix, with true believers taking it all on, like any other cult. But I'm very doubtful that the germ of it occurs naturally. Fake consensus is a powerful persuasive tool and it sows real discord between both pro and con. I don't disagree entirely that these could be retarded teens jumping on the latest gender discourse, convincing themselves it's right, but there's so much else- not least on reddit. Mods/admins banning certain subjects is largely the reason we're on this site, but there's also the pro-idpol/narrative pushing bots/shills/astroturfers acting in the major subs. Like a two-punch move. I dunno, this just seems like another layer to that. It's nefarious, regardless.

Good to discuss it with someone anyway. 💅

fair. i mean i guess in a looser sense yeah the allies are astroturfing the shit out of it by controlling the narrative and forming an echo chamber around these weirdos. i just associate that term with money and i don't think they're doing it for money. being self-righteous and getting internet ratios is its own reward for some.

then again there are these people getting paid to promote studies that say puberty blockers are safe...who are the same people selling fucking puberty blockers. so yeah it's both.

Oh definitely. I guess my pet theory is that there's a lot of money involved in this, from big pharma for sure but also think tanks and lobby groups. All this might be a stealth ad campaign for hormones and related medical institutions but it seems the institutions(well, Tavistock) have pressure from interest groups(Mermaids). Whether they're sponsored by big pharma or someone else I really don't know.

It's a headache.

[–]alladd 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

they're probably doing what big pharma does re: depression meds, which is feed the individualistic mentality, discourage the idea that society plays a role (pathology), and then get kids hooked on lifetime medications.

it just becomes very easy for them over time because they don't really need to convince people of anything; people are all too happy to label themselves broken and hand their lives over. so it's like astroturfing, but it sort of handles itself...which makes it far easier to deny doing. just gotta get the snowball rolling.

[–]Newzok 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if this were the case, given the track record. Just the overmedication of kids, esp in the US is grotesque.

Teens and autistic people seem especially vulnerable to whatever it is that's causing the issues. I really wonder what the catalyst is, because it certainly is effective.

i just call it narcissism in the broadest sense. image obsessed, narrative obsessed, sex obsessed culture that raises everyone from a young age to believe they're the main character and the only things that matter in life are the things done in view of others. no stable family life, TV raises us, and movies set the standard for our goals and accomplishments.

add autism/social awkwardness to a narcissist and it isn't a big leap imo to them making their identity and body into a spectacle. mentally i see no distinction between being trans and having too much plastic surgery. all narcissism.

Yeah I agree. I don't think a lot of the shit you see like this is astroturfing. Astroturfing happens a lot but usually doesn't involve saying such utterly retarded bull crap like "feminine penis" since the point of astroturfing is to convince normies and steer the conversation not say dumb as fuck shit that will get you automatically discounted by most people.

This is just normal echo chamber shit and it's exasperated by social media. Some people actually believe it, some people are just trolling them, some legitamately throw a fit when someone disagrees, some pretend to because they get off on it. But it's just a bunch of retards on the internet saying this shit and if it went mainstream they'd get canceled faster than JK Rowling at a Holocaust Costume Party. The more mainstream shit you see bleed into the pop culture is where the astroturfing is at.

I think most of the ulterior motive behind it can be easily linked to money. Medical profession does this for every kind of mental health condition or malady under the sun. They want people to come in and spend money for everything and there's more to be had with things that require chronic treatment forever rather than a course of treatment that fixed the underlying problem or does not require medical care and drugs. Then you've got a bunch of grifters in the wings for DEI training and what not that need to convince society they are necessary so they can keep their easy jobs.

People say it's some Marxist plot but really I think it's the opposite, seems like unchecked amoral capitalism to me trying to push extreme views of individual identity over any sort of group identity so they can be more easily marketed towards and profited off of with little concern for the long term societal effects. Or as you might say it's the promotion of "unfree markets, you must by our products or else you will kill yourself" or in other words, legalized cartels.
