The not sitting down thing is a myth.

Hunter/gatherers do indeed spend most of their days sat on their arses.

What there is is a difference between active and passive sitting so sitting and doing something active with hands or reaching around is different to sitting zoned out in front of the TV or scrolling.

This has been found after standing desks did nothing to make people healthier, because there's a similar thing with active and passive standing. If you stand there scrolling for hours it's worse than sitting and moving.

Right, I think specifically it's chairs where you can lean back and relax which are the problem (along with a lifestyle that uses them all the time). This does include cars, so that's one major way people end up spending lots of time in that position. I agree, an active sitting probably nullifies the bad effects.
