If they don't support the president, they are not supporting any kind of peace anytime soon, at least not until after election. It's about power, and they won't admit it because they lie to take the moral high ground, which weak minded people then fall for. It's now clear how millions of people can do evil. You just convince them there is a moral justification for killing your ideological and political opponents until you have absolute control.

SF is a mismanaged disaster. At this point it seems the current administration hates homeless people and are trying to slowly kill them by keeping them dependent and at the same time letting them do whatever they want. Literally outside right now on my block, dozens of homeless people outside partying with music. At least 20 people interacting outside on the street, blocks away from downtown, and they have been doing it almost everyday during the quarantine (and before). Police know about this but don't care or can't do anything. For more than a decade they've been saying "we're doing this to help them" but they will stay there until they grow old, if they survive.

Literally everyone is mixed to some extent, if not in the past 100 years, then in the past 5000 years. Latin Americans are literally a mixed race that did not exist even 500 years ago. 'White' people are a melting pot of European races, many of which mixed with Middle Eastern and Asian people. What current day Americans think of "white" and "black" is a product of American culture over the past 200 years, and in my opinion the only reason skin color aligns is because people subconsciously label themselves as part of their preferred "team". In other words, in America, racial lines are self-enforced. People are perpetuating the racial divide (especially leftist Democrats) exactly along the cultural line (i.e. by shaming those who don't conform, i.e.i.e. Kanye West).

Same culture, not same race. "Race" is incorrectly used by 99.99% percent of people. As an example Obama is half-white, half-black, yet he is considered black. That makes no sense. If we used "race" correctly Obama would always be referred to as mixed race and would never be claimed by black people. If we used "race" properly, we would have to memorize 20+ categories if we wanted to guess at first glance what someone is.

This is why it needs to be enforced. If you're out on the street for too long you really should be thinking about your life while in you're in a prison cell. It might sound bad, but I know for a fact there is a chance it's better in a cell than gambling your safety out on the streets. However the people with "compassion" want to keep giving these people "support", which effectively makes their situation last longer. If you have literally no option but to sleep outside, a prison cell is not a bad option, and if authorities had their shit together they could even have low security prison just for homeless people and increase the likelihood they will improve their lives.

The current Iranian regime is nothing short of evil though. They would be worse than the Nazi if they had the resources to invest in their plans. We're just lucky they're dirt poor and can't afford any of their dark fantasies of wiping out all the jews and oppressing all the women. This is extremely obvious, the way they dress, the things they say, and the stuff they have done all point to them wanting to destroy other nations. I'm obviously talking about their regime and not the people, but they literally tell us there is no way they will reconcile anything with infidels, especially anyone who is friendly with Israel. Until that regime changes their rhetoric, the smart thing to do is to keep them in check. The dumb thing to do is think they will be friendly with us when they have declared their hatred for ages.

Yeah it's just a bad solution. As usual Dem's solutions are just bad solutions to problems that originate from feelings. If I really felt bad about a random low skill worker not getting enough of a living wage, I would at least come up with an effective solution. Something like allowing any minimum wage but then imposing basic limit to how long they can be paid this low, which will force companies to give a raise or fire them. This would at least get the job market moving, and allow companies invest properly on people they deem valuable. Maybe that's not the solution but the approach is such that you are minding the way the market works, unlike simple blanket laws that obviously break because of the complexity of the market.

You are completely wrong about the people who cross the border. First consider there are legal immigrants waiting in line, who have the right, over those other people who just decide to cross the border. Second realize many of them are homeless and shit poor ALREADY wherever they come from. Why are we solving those other countries problems again?

And the argument cannot be that they're seeking safety or whatever, because if this was a real crisis in their country we can just help them where they're at, why do they have to come here for help? WHY NOT HELP THEM THERE?!

Once again, plenty of legal immigrants trying to do the right thing, and we won't exhaust that line anytime soon, why prioritize a bunch of poor people that can just stay where they're at and ask for help.

CA needs to fix its law enforcement overall. The lack of proper enforcement is causing the homelessness crisis, not housing. People can clearly see cops won't do much if they just live on the street (even for years from my experience), so why pay rent if you can live in one of the best cities while just sacrificing a little comfort and sleeping in a tent? The MESSAGE that law enforcement is sending to criminals in CA is quite clear, "do whatever you want, we will take our time investigating, if we ever get to it, and that's assuming it's over a certain damage amount to begin with". Asshole people see this, and they run with it, and know exactly where the line is. The fact that current CA administration doesn't understand this is what is causing so many people to choose and live outside. Yes, it is a choice when there are hundreds of cities to choose from.

The problem with your logic is that shooters are basically the same as civilians even in your example. Where else do shooters come from if not from the general population? Whatever their skill level is, chances are the armed good guy has around the same skill level if not higher (if you owned the gun for many years). Do you really think shooters are some kind of badass that cannot be stopped by regular people with guns? That's illogical. If a twisted person with mental disorders can operate a gun than so can anyone else.

I don't like thinking about how you could get shot anytime because everybody has a gun, but taking guns away from normal people is definitely making the situation worse. I have a job but I’m homeless’ – the working poor who can’t afford to rent by codedtestament in WorldNews

[–]proc0 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

If you can't afford rent, there are options and living in the street shouldn't be one. It would be like getting fired from a job and still showing up the next day. If it didn't work out, you should find a proper solution and not just refuse to budge because you liked it there.

Besides, how can being on the street be better than moving to a smaller, cheaper town? Maybe if you are in a big city that has a lot of things to do, and also happens to give you free stuff, and also doesn't arrest you for destroying yourself with drugs (destroying yourself is the keyword here, drugs are fine).

All of this is disguised as compassion, when it's really patronizing them, treating them like babies that can't take responsibilities. Of course there are exceptions like elderly people, but lately the majority of people living outside are relatively young and strong, yet people are ready to cry for them as if they are war refugees that lost a limb.

Why is it so bad for those 10 people to move to a cheaper area or city? It seems a lot of this homeless crisis, at least in the US is because people insist on staying in expensive cities when they just have experience doing jobs that could be done anywhere.

Growth of these sites is inevitable I think. It slowly snowballs and then spikes at some point going mainstream. The question is, how will Saidit handle all that popularity? I still remember Dig, which sold out the site the moment this happened. Reddit waited a few years but eventually sold out anyway. Now there's only a handful of small sites that feel like the way Dig and Reddit felt before they went mainstream. Will they give in to corporate overlords who will prioritize money over freedom of speech?

You sneaked in a second claim. Organized crime in US is tied to that of Mexico and in fact many cartels are operating in both countries, but whether CIA is criminal or not, is a different topic. I just think someone, if not Mexican army then US army, should engage this massive criminal industry that is the source of so many problems across north and south america.

Alternatively, I would have no problem opening the borders... if we first invaded Mexico and cleared out their massive organized crime sector. Honestly invading your neighbor for safety makes more sense than halfway around the world for oil, and it wouldn't even be about Mexicans but rather their broken ass system that is festering with ISIS level psychopaths.

[–]proc0 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

So how do you reconcile the fact that the most evil monsters in history were socialists? Why try and rescue that term (as it seems we're arguing semantics here)? Why not use a new word to describe whatever it is that is different from those past ideologies? This attempt to use that word only makes people look like they are trying to condone socialist dictators of the past, otherwise why wouldn't you distance yourself from this as well? The formula is simple, socialism requires both centralization of production AND authority. Once you centralize authority as socialism REQUIRES, then it's just a matter of time until some corrupt asshole takes over and creates chaos. The point of our current system is to at least divert this from an individual to the system itself.

That's a problematic term. I would never call anyone who is relatively young an incel. Men have decades to figure out their "worth" and work on it, which is why many young men feel frustrated thinking their intrinsic value is worthless. For men it's really about what you accomplish that sets your odds.
