Yes. The reliability that media will double down on a lies and disinformation has improved to the point that intelligent people now distrust everything the media manufacturers.

Good point. The "mostly peaceful" fires were a hell of an image with the power to break people's hypnotic trance regarding the "news" we are fed. The shocking part, however, is how many still are capable of following cognitive dissonance at this level.
