If you're only interested in the simplest answers, there isn't much to discuss. You're not reading beyond the headlines. There are numerous Israelis who protest the Government-sponsored abuses. Hatred breeds more hatred. There is no end to it. People of Israel understand this. How do you know I am not in Israel at the moment? Why would an Israeli want to commit genocide? (Many don't.) Are they really in danger? (No.) Will they be in much more danger if they continue the genocide? YES. Should they arrange a peace plan? YES

If I knew that I was hated by another/other group(s) of people, and I had something that they wanted, I wouldn't be so keen on peacetalks or even being anywhere near them. Those peacetalks would likely just go up in flames as soon as guard was let down anyway. I'm not condoning what they're doing, but they've survived for a reason.

It's extremely naive of you to think that everything would just be hunky dory just because some people up top signed paperwork for peace, especially when not everyone there is on board with that idea.

Are you kidding me? That's not how peace treaties have worked for 100s of years. Have you not read history or ethics texts? Think for a moment where we'd be without peace treaties (or read about them). If you don't see any path to peace with people who don't agree with you, and want to imprison and murder those people, perhaps you should be the one on the chopping block, or read about theories of state, FFS.

What do you mean? Looks like things should have already been peaceful there, with peace treaties having been signed and what not. Oh, but wait-- it looks like extremists keep fucking things up, as they do with everything.

I understand how peace works, and it requires both parties to actually cooperate and keep control over any extremist actions-- you know, by not assassinating leaders of the other parties or doing things in bad faith.

I wish that I could tell you that all people do things in good faith, but life doesn't adhere to the lyrics of a fucking John Lennon song, so here we are. Now stop shitting up this chick's post with completely unrelated bullshit and fingerpointing. Make your own post about it.

Hence - if Israel violates the accords, and has an extremist-led government at the moment - than the one with the most US guns wins? No. The Peace accords should have been enforced by those who agreed to them, and by the US, which helped make those accords possible. The rise of extremists is inevitable in Palestine, when they are effectively imprisoned, live in horrible conditions, and are regularly killed by Israelis. Don't believe everything you hear from the IDF. Israelis keep are continuing conflicts throughout the middle east. Israel starts the conflicts.

Socks, I don't give a good god damn about Israel. I don't even know why we're sending them money. The US helped foster peace, neat. We shouldn't be involved in any middle eastern conflicts at all. Why we don't just let them deal with their own bullshit, and make an effort to actually worry about the people in our own country is beyond me. Everyone has their hands in a cookie jar somewhere, and not in any transparent or helpful to the rest of society way.
