It's a big internet, it's impossible to be all things to all people. Saidit's promise of high quality debate is attractive. Too often the 'debate' degenerates into propaganda and insults. The challenge is to live up to the promise, not to degenerate further, to propaganda, insults and porn. Plenty of other sites have that market covered.

How does Saiddit ensure high quality debate? Several morons on this thread insulted me and strawmanned me. I don't call that "high quality debate".

Aspirations. Saidit aspires to be a site for high quality debate. It often falls short, unfortunately. The insults and strawmanning are a bigger threat to Saidit than the lack of jailbait, in my opinion. To your point, how can Saidit do both: support free speech and maintain civility, so that interesting things can happen here, and so that people want to be here and participate? Can we have a high quality debate on that? The other aspiration, something vague about being a replacement for Reddit, IDK.
