I really appreciate having this place to talk about how I really feel about things. I need spaces with real free speech, where the KGB isn't breathing down my neck with every word I type.

I also have a Gab account, but I don't use it much. The format's entirely different: Gab's mostly designed for small circles of followers, but Saidit is more like a forum where you can easily meet people, perhaps based around some interest or hobby.

Saidit's small compared to, say, Reddit, but that's actually an up-side. Even on this post — the top post for today — my comment will probably be read by someone — even though I'm pretty late to the party. May I say: the birthday party. Also: it helps with my anxiety when there are less people. Furthermore, I've gotten to know a few, so it's less of a problem now. (Even though I've only been here for a few months).

Thanks so much to everyone — especially the admins, who work to make sure the website works! Yall've done such a good job! It can't be easy, with the host breathing down your neck, and the SJWs on the offensive.
