Yep term limits and some kind of easy way to hold a vote which bots can't easily game (must comment to vote, must be an active user for the vote to count, etc.). Maybe the election code automatically assigns new moderators too, to avoid the shenanigans that went on in r/conspiracy with their "algorithm".

Yeah mod elections are not good, perhaps we could have a lottery mod system? Or maybe instead of term limits we could have a way to vote mods out?

I like the idea of mod turnover (I think), but I'm not sure the best way to do it yet.

Yeah a lottery would work. Voting mods out might be an even better solution than term limits, I like it.

I've seen a bunch of ideas that are replacements for mods, but not much about fixing bad actor mods within the reddit model. Hopefully we'll get big enough to need to worry about it.
