Why did no-one protest?
Oh wait they did.
But the mass media turned the legal protest into an imaginary crime, and protesters were put into prison without a normal legal process.

Maybe trumps team knew that'd do no good they'd just rig it again.

That pence not approving electors thing was stupid. I think trump didn't want to be president again but also knew acknowledging defeat hurt his brand.
