No one mentioned the obvious: sadists are attracted to police work. They are really turned on by the power. The argument used to be that all sex was about power. I don't believe that but in this case the power angle must have been a big factor. Let's hope these guys have a few years to consider what they have done. Ex-cops are not much liked in prison and they will probably get raped often where they are going.

sometimes sex is about power. I saw an article by a lady who'd gotten involved in sex scenes talk about how there was reduced interest in having sex with her if she was actually interested wanted to do it and there was very clearly agency on her part and no coercion.

Historically, sex has absolutely all about power, now that women have financial freedom it's more equal and consensual
