Well perhaps you could start by looking at the multitudes of multiple videos I just offered you?

I have 2 friends with gout. One claims to have tried the carny diet and it didn't work, but knowing him and his rice, noodles and how his wife bakes cakes and pastries as a side biz, I suspect his carny diet... wasn't.

The other one watched some vids and gave it a go, since he was having an attack anyway. It went away over time... and didn't come back.

There may be more than one type of gout, dunno, but I do know it helped my knee and many peeps, inc me, thrive on it.

"an error occurred (status: 403)" Can we fuck off with this shit?

Being open minded, I went ahead and am looking into this. This flies in the face of all current known stuff about gout, but looking in to it it seems like we have not bothered to really study gout much, and this might actually be legit. ketosis might actually help lower uric acid in the blood, lose weight which helps everything, and lowers inflammation which also helps. This... might be a thing.

Good luck, and good call looking closer

Well, fuck it. Imma give it a try. Worse to worse I get a gout flare and suffer a few days. Best to best I lose some weight, gout gets better, and avoid diabetes too... now if it could just make me not look ugly too!

For me the best bit is I like meat. A 'diet' where I get to eat steak, beefburgers, chicken etc is no hardship, so it's easy to maintain. The problems start when socializing and people helpfully poke and prod at you to eat all the shit you're trying to avoid. Fuckers.

I recommend one cheat meal a week, to keep your sugar-digesting tummy bugs and enzymes. Not a cheat day, one cheat meal. Other than that, the more strict you are with yourself the more results you'll get. Make sure you get plenty of salt, or grab some electrolyte powder, especially when you first start (or you'll feel like shit with 'keto flu').

Good luck, internet stranger!

I am picking up some ketosis strips to ensure I stay in ketosis and have my food ordered for next week. I might as well use this thread to post results for next week as I go.

The strips will show you have spare ketones in your pee. Spare because you peed them out.

They work, not saying don't get any, just realize that deep ketosis means you're burning the ketones, not peeing them out.

In the past when I've used such strips I find they go way higher after eating carbs, precisely because my body is like "Oh, carbs to deal with? Fuck.. call the insulin and dump these ketones, cos we need to burn this carbage, before it glycates and fucks up all our arteries n shit!"

But yeah, for sure as a noob they will help show and reassure you that you're in keto-mode. If you really wanna get serious you need to test your blood, not your pee. Don't do that, painful, expensive, no need - if you cut your carbs to basically nothing then you WILL go into ketosis, guaranteed.

You do it every night, which is why it's called break-fast, but really getting 'fat adapted' does take awhile. Be patient, be kind to yourself, and get some electrolytes.

*fist-bump

Sounds good. I talked to someone else did keto and they told me to buy some potassium and magnesium as well, helps not have the keto flu.
