There are many aspects of society that have levels and expectations. They are not just in rank. Once upon a time you didn't have to think about whether or not you should hold a door open for a woman, it was just expected. A young boy would be considered a growing man when he first opens the door for women. Even if it is just for his mother or sisters. Now, opening a door for someone has a hundred brain damaging pseudo psychologies going of at once.

When I said spectrum are bullshit, I mean in the face of how to act. You either hear what is being done and know how to respond, or you do not. Functional? What does that even mean to you? Can the person feed themselves? Can they make friends? Can they hold a job? Can they learn? Does their heart beat under their own power? These are on and off switches, a spectrum does not say you can half do one of these. You either can or you cant.

Everone should hold doors just for everyone and no one should get pissed.

Functional = Capable

How does ASD have to do with the heart? My point is that not all people diagnosed with ASD have the same sympthoms or functionality, so some can kinda deal with things in life and act "normal", and others are wall-bangers that communicate by writing on a tablet. The varying gravity of the condition, that's what means being on a spectrum.

SHOULD, is the key word there. Further, one persons should is different to anothers. And that is part of the problem here.

So, they are either "normal" or not huh?

IMO, acting normal doesn't necessarily imply being normal.

But when you know how you must act, your anxiety, anxiousness and nervousness levels go down. One does not have to fret over how or what they should do a thing and can focus on what is important, such as the core task at hand.

Yeah, is not that straightforward always. As someone with ADHD, you can get sometimes overwhelmed when you have lots of things to do or in certain situations and also it's hard to follow the logical priority of things/tasks when a specific one is stressing you the most in your head.

You can't just ask neurodiverse people to just be neurotypical, but some can try to, let's say, "get things done".
