I don't really watch the movies let alone the trailers lol. If I do end up watching a movie which is like once a year, I go in blind.

I thought you could heal the blind

I love trailers. Like television commercials (at least how they used to be, as I don't watch TV), they are all about the art and craft of persuasion with a product to sell.

I was intending to make a few subs: MovieTrailers, MovieReviews, MovieAnalysis, and Filmmaking and Screenwriting, but I got stomped on - so that part of my life won't be here unless others start it. I did make /s/AnimatedShorts though.

Unfortunately most of the products/movies are mindless shit filled with propaganda and revisionism. That's usually self evident by the quality of the trailer.

Almost all movies push "authority" constantly. Always about the cops, crime, justice system, secret agents, etc. Even if they are bumbling idiots they are the "authority" and all must respect their position if not the person.

Even when you see "The Curse Of Oak Island", (I've been enthralled by that story since I was in grade 4 in the 70s) - the "Boss" of Oak Island is ALWAYS telling folks "Okay, let's get back to work" - which is what they were already doing. Plus there are the "experts", some legit, some speculative, and some woo. The worst part of it is that the Government is the ultimate authority requiring permits, etc. and when they find treasure it must be "dealt" with accordingly, by "their" "experts".

We the public don't have access to most of the shit in museums. That's uncool by far.

I used to, but it seems like trailers now give away way too much of the plot.

I have noticed this as an unfortunate trend too!

Yeah, I've felt burned by too many comedies having all the best jokes in the trailer

No. But then again, I usually dont go to the movies. When you go to the movies you are forced to watch trailers.

The only movie I am going to see is Dune.

Wait, are you saying they're making a Dune movie? I just started reading the book yesterday, and I can already tell it's going to be great. I don't typically watch Hollywood nonsense, but that might be an exception.

Yes Mein Fuhrer! Hopefully will be released next year.

From Wikipedia (I would provide a link, but I suggest you do not go there as they are currently begging for money)

Dune is an upcoming 2020 American epic science fiction film directed by Denis Villeneuve with a screenplay by Eric Roth, Jon Spaihts and Villeneuve. It is the first of a planned two-part adaptation of the 1965 novel of the same name by Frank Herbert, and will cover roughly the first half of the book.

I like to read the entire plot, then go see it. Most times it's spot on. A few times there were mistakes. If I know the plot, I can catch other things easier. I like to watch a good movie more than once. So I don't get the hysteria surrounding the "spoiler" but I can and do respect that.
