Reddit is dying. Selling it to shareholders will smash the quality further. It's already struggling to profit with thousands of ads. There's no way it's sustainable, with the censorship, political correctness, and political social engineering, it will lose the quality that gathered the community in the first place. They won't wanna spend a cent. Their target audience, woke or queer, wouldn't ever spend a cent with anything in the first place. It's a zombie entrepreneurship. The future of online communities is segregation by topic, you cannot host everything in the same place with high quality without attracting greed.
