I remember when free speech was popular on Reddit, regardless of political side including among apolitical people.

I practically never go back there, but any time I mention free speech now, I'm instantly labeled a right-wing extrimist, nazi, anti-vaxer, or some other demonization label. Just because I dare mention free speech as if it's a good thing. It's happened in numerous subreddits, including the small niche ones you'd think would escape some of the mainstream Reddit culture.

Even r/Freespeech is run by someone who got their position as a mod through AHS, and he/she/it admitted that openly himself.
