You're correct. But what they've done for me has usually been counterproductive, and they're powerless against what I face.

You're probably not very sensitive. I can admit that I am so I kinda flew off the handle for a bit.

I've noticed that my conservative family members and friends tend to be less emotional in general. Not sure if that's true on average, just something I've noticed.

Less emotional people tend to be more conservative because they can handle harsh truths more easily. The sensitive try to cope through denial.

it's not about how emotional you are, it's about how objective you can become when it is needed. Not being able to let emotion/intuition take the wheel isn't exactly a good thing either.
