Haven't seen a post in a looooong time that was a general popular support of dialing things down, and going back to normal. I think it's starting to kick in for most people that this is basically a very bad flu (3x excess deaths compared to normal bad flu years), but it's not the black plague.

Real numbers say yearly influenza is twice as deadly as covid 19.

Something can be more deadly but kill fewer people on account of it being rarer.

Especially when you consider that tests have high false positive potential, higher pcr makes it moreso, but then even if you die and test "positive" by their shitty standard it gets listed as covid. For all we know, we did have a bad flu year and also some covid cold going around to claim some numbers.

Normal year is about 2.7 million deaths in the US. Bad flu year is 2.8-2.9 million deaths. This year is set to be about 3.1 million. So there are about 200k more than a bad flu year, which itself is about 100k. So it's about 3x as bad as the flu from the numbers I've seen. But I'd be happy to see your numbers too, it's hard to tell what is what these days

No, according to the cdc, 1 year's worth of flu deaths amounts to between 30-55k. This year there have been less than 1k. Go figure. Also, pneumonia, copd, and emphysema have stopped killing people. Cancer deaths are down more than 50% across the board for all cancers, all age groups in 2020. Your covid numbers are inflated. Do yourself a favor and stop watching telwvision.

Yeah I see what you are saying too. I think we're both right. There's about 12% increased overall deaths though, it's reasonable to blame that on covid

You're both not correct. /u/tomatosplat is correct. "Co"morbidities are killing people and they call it COVID. The whole thing is bullshit and they're rigging and fictionalizing the numbers in every imaginable way. Per capita deaths per annum have not increased.
