When I found reddit it honestly felt like the best "social" network in existence even though it's not social. You had communities for everything under the sun, funny memes, and most importantly a good comments section model which was wayyy better than facebook and co. Except for some forums maybe. Shit started going downhill quite fast after I found it.

For discussion, I think it is still better than the vast majority, until this website gets more traffic. Then we know who will be king.

Unfortunately I think it will be an endless cycle. If SaidIt takes off they'll sell out just the same and we will move to HeardIt to rinse and repeat.

I agree. It's how things usually happen in every plataform

I have a tremendous question. When wouldn't a website sell out?

If it was run by someone with a passion for preserving its integrity. Reddit is owned by people who didn't invent it. Tencent owns about 10% of it. Ads are fine to keep a site up though things like this are problematic.

Adblock works great against that. Just can’t use their app

Adblock does not work against that, that's exactly the problem. These ads are presented as organic user created content and allowed to be boosted and manipulated by reddit and moderators.

Frankly it’s been happening for some time now. Not officially through reddit but many game creators use bots to promote their games on subreddits devoted to such. It sucks cock.

I use Pihole and it does nothing against those ads on my phone... Does anyone know how to block them?

On a phone it’s probably impossible on a PC u can do stuff
