Same, but I think, in reality, I'm better off alone. /emo

I took one look at it and freaked out.

Why? Lots of trans?I was using it yesterday (not for searching anything, just curiosity), and not even one trans. Only girls and couples. I live in the deep south of Italy. We're far more conservatives.

Lately I've been getting lots of men on Bumble and Tinder.

Not even transwomen which I can accept is an ideological gray area even though it shouldn't be, but just straight up dudes with beards in suits named things like "Blake". I keep double checking my settings to make sure I have it set to women only, and I do.

Yeah. Some men always appear even when setting on women.

[–][deleted] 7 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

i fucking hate that. they purposely enter their sex in the app as "female" or "woman" because they're perverts not regular dudes. a normal, healthy man wouldn't list himself as a woman even if he specifically wanted to date a bi woman.

I am certain some people do. Problem is those folks fish for a)the wrong crowd b)they do it on purpose.

Ugh me too, I have a sensitive job and live in an area that isn't super populated so apps really aren't an option. I'm moving soon and I cannot wait to actually go on dates, I've been out of the game for awhile so I hope it isn't all MTF.

You'll probably be okay on the TiM aspect if you don't live in a major city or very liberal/progressive area.

I say this because I do. And that's why I deleted all my dating apps 2-3 years. Could not open them without seeing some hideous cromagnon dick-bearer with a receding hairline and shitty lipstick. I hope they all have fun swiping right on each other.

I'm headed to DC area, so I guess I'll see, I know politically it is a very liberal area, but I'm not sure how that has translated to gender politics.

Hmmm, it's no SF or NYC so I'd say it might be better. However, there was that major university in DC that stopped doing the Vagina Monologues because of complaints from TRAs so...

The reason I wrote the post was because I was diagnosed with covid a few days ago and last night I had a high fever, trouble breathing and felt lonely. SailorMoon2020 seems to think it's okay to put other people down and call them pathetic. I'll probably be banned for writing this but you really are a fucking asshole and always write derogatory and negative comments. You are the reason lesbians flee this place. Your selfishness and righteousness is disgusting and your negativity taints the entire forum. You belong on Reddit. Are you really this hateful in real life or are you just another coward hiding behind an anonymous alias? You are a troll. Go to hell.

Yeaaahhh, I've been lurking for awhile but I created an account to say this... I think that person's a man. Calling a lesbian an "incel" for saying she's lonely + carelessly suggesting a woman hire a prostitute = something a TRA male would say. (Have said actually.) Not that I haven't heard women be pro-prostitution but even when they are there's usually more thought to it than "I don't see anything wrong with paying for something you want" as if that's the actual issue with prostituted women. Again, it's something a man would say. Even if this person isn't a man, I suggest blocking them like I did because they're clearly so bitter that "paid rape" is an option for them but thinks being called out on their being an asshole is someone "going off" just to feel better. Again, TRA/libfem talk. People who "pay women for sex" are generally misogynists who live miserable lives.

Illness and injury always brings out the loneliness in me too. Everything suddenly requires a strategy (or extra money for things like delivery) when you're unable to take care of yourself or do everyday things, and it can really emphasize how alone you are, so I'm very sorry to hear you're going through something like that right now and I hope it's over soon for you.

And yeah, I have no idea why anyone outside of an alt-right incel forum would think "quit whining and hire a prostitute" would be an acceptable response to a loneliness vent.

      [–][deleted] 12 insightful - 2 fun12 insightful - 1 fun13 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Seriously. I've never heard a woman call another woman an incel.

      [–][deleted] 14 insightful - 7 fun14 insightful - 6 fun15 insightful - 7 fun -  (0 children)

Especially a lesbian attacking another lesbian - the small dating pool and the apps full of couples and men make lonely nights inevitable, even without a pandemic surging.

One night the whiskey will hit me wrong, and I'll post some emo screed and show everyone what a real pathetic post looks like, assuming saidit's codebase doesn't immediately break down from disgust.

She didn't go off on some "random person", she went off on the unhelpful asshole who responded rudely to her thread calling her pathetic and suggesting she use prostitutes.

Sometimes I swear you're like an alien mimicking human behavior. There's something off.

Yeah, missing a relationship is usually more about the intimate connection, rather than sex.But escorts is sad. It's fake, you know it's fake, and cost a ton and very limited in time. That's far more pathetic than just being alone.

I was thinking more of a girlfriend, not someone I have to pay to hug me. Also, something more long term, and not casual.. but thanks for trying.

                          [–]Elvira95 12 insightful - 5 fun12 insightful - 4 fun13 insightful - 5 fun -  (0 children)

"not someone I have to pay to hug me"

This is funny and sad :D

Have you thought about making a weighted girlfriend pillow? I know that sounds weird but there are studies that show having some form of contact keeps primates more able to be sociable. Isolation is not great for mental well being and some contact even fake can be beneficial.
