That sounds so cool - the horse rescue part, not the crazy equestrians. As a kid I was obsessed with working at a horse rescue. What is it with lesbians and horses anyway, do we all read "Black beauty", or is it the independence and beauty they inspire? :-)

I got the job because I’ve been working in framing and ranching since I was old enough to walk and learned all my riding skills from pro rodeo riders (my mom, one of my aunts, uncles and grandpa) and my handling skills as an apprentice to an international multi time champion in lite chart and halter show class. And it’s always Black Beauty or Misty of Chincoteague depending on their age.

The opening level of crazy was a calm “My one summer at horse camp made me an expert and I know everything”. Then they turn the dial all the up to telling my wife how “hot” the ranch manager was working with horses then “forget” we are married, then repeat it all over again in the same damn day. Luckily my wife has a good sense of humor. Needless to say I started finding things in the back 40 acres to do on volunteer days.

I was obsessed with the Misty of Chincoteague series when I was younger and have a thing for an equestrian lesbian right now. What am I getting myself into lol?!! If she was crazy would I already know it by now?

Apparently you haven’t pissed her off yet lol.

Lol that’s impressive because I’ve known her for 2 years and say a lot of stupid shit.

So what happens if I do piss her off? Am I going to get trampled by a horse?!

There are sane horse people. But I have seen a woman make her big, strong, macho, bull riding husband go cry in his truck with nothing but body language.

Intense.

Wow, it sounds like a beautiful world and a rich family tradition in ranching.

It's lovely how good-humoured you and your wife are about the phenomenon. One would hope that these girls will get it out of their system at some point but hopefully not at the expense of your inner peace.
