Pronoun Protocol takes the risk and responsibility off of gender nonconforming people, especially kids. The responsibility to interrupt stereotypes and assumptions is distributed equally between all bodies and genders.

Pretending as if sex doesn't exist is not the genius solution to avoiding gender roles that they think it is. Gender blindfolded language or not, people can still see your sex and will treat you accordingly. They/them and some neo-pronouns will not stop them. Even worse, it tricks people into believing that the problem is solved.
