I really hope Reddit dies as a result of this, especially since its so close to them becoming public, but I think the protest has lost the way now and won't be effective. The 3rd party apps have removed themselves from the equation, so now the mods just have to stand against the Reddit Admins in favor of ... ???

1) Blind people using internet apps
2) Mods not getting enough censoring/banning tools in a timely manner

I'm looking forward to the mess Reddit becomes because of this though.

One of their missteps was setting a protest timeline(a short one that the Admins could just plan to wait out) instead of promising something indefinite from the start.

A good thing that has come out of this is now more people can see how useless search engines like Google have become, without the functional crutch of appending "reddit" to search queries in order to filter for relevant content.

"Addressing the community about changes to our API"

This response apparently made a lot of people unhappy and got referred to as a "dumpster fire."

I was watching that happen in real time and just refreshing to see the mess. It really was a dumpster fire. Roughly 20 Admin replies against 16000+ user comments. They answered very select early questions, and that was it.

To be fair, most top-level requests had multiple questions, which doesn't work for an AMA. It should be one at a time. But it was very telling how only specific questions were answered, and with copy-paste template responses.

No? It's a genuine question. Some people invented a orientation called "super straight" to say they are only interested in "cis" people and not trans people. I'm not sure what else your super bi is in reference to.

yeah well I'm not LGB 🤔 so that makes me have different world views. Some stuff in here I outright don't engage in because it's a weird word salad

I noticed the troll problem too and really it's just 2/3 guys that create a bunch of accounts, though I would suggest being more open of the possibility of someone just not being a troll. You could potentially be blocking someone that is just trying to have conversations but has bad worldviews perhaps.

Realistically, neither. But if I had to choose, then I guess "love" for the absolute panic he brought to woke Twitter users. Only people I felt bad for were artists.
