Gay men are going to be stigmatized by the usual homophobic suspects regardless, so I don't understand why government agencies have been so hesitant to warn us about how we're being disproportionately impacted by this. Due to inaction and lack of early intervention by public health agencies in North America and Europe, this will likely become endemic in the gay male community.

It's already happening, by the way.

We're seeing a 2.0 version of what happened in the AIDS crisis, with some claiming that monkey pox is only a "gay disease" and they have nothing to worry about.

Unfortunately, like happened then, these idiots will only take this seriouly once straight people start to get infected in bulk.
