I don't doubt many minors try to solve their issues in adolescence with the gender transition "magic wand". Because that's how it's portrayed by so many people. Don't like the effects of your puberty or your looks? You can roll the die and try again. I mean, it's not a real try again(your body is determined very early on - puberty is just an additional stage of development), but it's the promise of a brand new start that hooks people. It must hit hard when the realization comes that they haven't really solved their original anxieties and in addition they'll have to deal with the health and body image burdens that comes with transition to boot.
