Maybe I'm too cynical, but I can't believe LGB people actually and honestly think like that about themselves.

Right here, checking in. I'm lesbian and I genuinely felt and believed this about myself, too, a few years ago, back when I first started admitting to myself that I might be lesbian.

I grew up with family members who had a sickening amount of hatred towards lesbian women, in particular. That, coupled with all the shaming posts I saw on Tumblr and other forms of social media that said that you're a horrible person if you're a lesbian who is grossed out by dick, and I felt even more horrible about being exclusively same-sex attraction. But eventually, my "solution" for it was to try to become "straight" via transitioning, rather than good old-fashioned conversion therapy. Same difference, in my opinion.
