I recently watched this video, and found it kind of interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdei5i5AczU A GC straight woman argues that she thinks it comes from a place of frustration with the power dynamics of heterosexuality, and wanting the perceived egalitarianism of same-sex relationships. Except they're actually straight, and so real same-sex relationships aren't an option for them.

I'm not sure how much I agree with everything she says, but since this is a straight woman analyzing the behavior of other straight women, I do think she has some added insight there.

Heterosexual women identifying as queer or non-binary is an attempt to, in a way, mimic homosexual relationships and throw off those gendered expectations.

USA culture is sexist as fuck. Also is funny she thinks homosexual relationship will automatically be equal, while some(many?) brainwashed couples will have role totally simulatng heterosexist powerdynamics.
