It still amazes me how much popularity the "progress" flag has gained, when it is a copyrighted product that one single trans-identified person makes money off of and refuses to donate to any LGBTQ+ charities.

Best scheme to con corporations out of money that I've seen in ages... make a few adjustments to a social symbol and tell them that they'll be "cancelled" if they don't pay up for it. Usually the corporations are the ones doing something that Machiavellian, lol.

Somehow I had missed that nauseating detail about this flag's origins. So I went to the perpetrator's Twitter timeline as you suggested on your other post:

  1. His site: https://progress.gay/ https://archive.ph/kPbc2

  2. Sample of recent self-promo tweets:

Anyone who cares to add more to this is welcome. Would love to see some verbiage about his refusal to donate any of his profits.

He found a niche in the market and exploited it, I wouldn't think he's obligated to donate any money he's made to anything. He's a douche and a tool, but his customers are the problem, not him. He's straightforward about what he's doing.

The original pride flag was a reworked version of the PACE flag that had been in use since the 60s, itself based on the Cursillo banners first used sometime in the late '40s.
