I'm reading the comments and there's so many labels to describe different type of women in a lesbian relationship... I will probably sound closed minded or not too aware of the "lesbian culture" thing but I don't know, I really don't think about how femme or butch or chapstick or whatever a woman is supposed to be when I think about dating one.

Am lesbian and I have the exact same perspective. Perhaps I am "closed-minded" too, lol, but I don't really get the point of all these labels, either... sometimes they are just used to indicate the strength of gender non-conformity a woman has, which I kind of understand, but I feel like it's more clear to just say GNC or not GNC rather than all these identifiers, lol. The other context I hear people use these words-- and I think the context that OP means-- is when specifying their "type" that they're attracted to. So like, I am more attracted to women who are conventionally feminine, for example. I suppose I could use the word "femme" to say that but honestly I would just say feminine because there are a bunch of different definitions of each of these words... ask 10 lesbian women what "chapstick" means and you might get 10 different answers...
