this makes more sense but i've seen it used as some borderline conspiracy theory that bisexuals were there all along and somehow the evil media erased them and theyre victims of gays and lesbians. your definition makes more sense but on bisexual subreddits, i've seen it being used as more of a "our people and history have been erased and given to the gays" when even now, most of them are closeted and make gays and lesbians suffer through the hard parts of homophobia while eating popcorn and watching on the sidelines.

Hmm weird. I avoid those places so I wasn't aware. From what I can see, it's generally acknowledged when activists for gay rights are bisexual--for example, the bi lady who started pride--so it just sounds like a persecution complex. The majority of bi erasure is perpetuated by bi people who never leave the closet, and even if they aren't spouting it, they're enabling it.
