I suppose it is from where you are coming. You idealized and then met reality.

I am coming from opposite position - I believed in all stereotypical BS, and those stereotypes were beaten into me with economical and physical hits. I thought most women and some men are just worst of the worst, but then learned that most people aren't bad, and that main issue is not people themselves, I found out that even worst people can have reasoning and that many people are making bad things just because they don't know those things are bad - most people wanting to be "good people" and to be "correct and right". As someone said "even kindest people are turning into monsters when fed with misinformation".

So I went from thinking the worst to thinking better about women. While for you it was the opposite.
