I don't think I've ever seen a respectful portrayal of LGB people from that man, especially if they're gay men.

Ryan Murphy's portrayal of gay men is jarring, considering that he himself is a gay man. Glee, for instance, has Kurt Hummel. Kurt fell in love with a straight guy and tried to convince this fella to go out with him, to the point of sexual harassment. And he’s supposed to be one of the good guys. Murphy defended the character's actions because "gay kids make mistakes". It wasn’t a mistake, most gay people don’t do that shit, and the show still acted like Kurt did nothing wrong until fans complained and then Murphy backtracked. This show did not portray gay characters in a good light.

American Horror Story is another Ryan Murphy show with bad gay portrayal. First season had a gay couple that fought because one was a control freak who wanted a baby as an accessory, and the other man grabbed a straight man's crotch. To be fair, the couple weren’t meant to be sympathetic. The second season had a lesbian as the main character, and her story arc was okay. The third season was about witches, so the main characters were women. For some reason, one of the members of the council was a camp gay man. For no reason. Look, I don’t care how effeminate a gay man is, he is still not a woman, so his role on that season made no sense to me. The fourth season was better with its portrayal of gay characters, but still not all that good. The first one was a villain, so I don’t mind how he’s portrayed. But the second gay character killed another character just to stay in the closet, instead of killing the character who was blackmailing him, so I didn’t like him. I don’t know about the other Ryan Murphy shows, though I’ve heard that The New Normal was bad. In fact, I don’t find Ryan Murphy a good writer. And his shows just aren’t my type.

Ryan Murphy, I think is a feminist, and really love to portrait strong women. Female stories are ok. Brittany and Santana were very important to me. Ratched was awesome. Sarah Paulson and Cynthia Nixon pretty nice couple.
