pretty much any exchange of labor (use of your body) for money is rape

No. Merriam Webster defines rape as: unlawful sexual activity and usually sexual intercourse carried out forcibly or under threat of injury against a person's will or with a person who is beneath a certain age or incapable of valid consent because of mental illness, mental deficiency, intoxication, unconsciousness, or deception

There are few jobs more dangerous, because of the risk of STDs, violence, and in the case of women prostituting themselves to men, pregnancy. Prostitution is inherently violent because, by definition, it involves unwanted sex. The victim not only has to bear the invasion of their boundaries and their most intimate places, but they also have to act like they're enjoying it. This is a form of psychological violence.

Your comparison between having a sugar daddy or working in a sweatshop doesn't work. If one were so disadvantaged they had to choose between sweat shop work and prostitution, the type of prostitution they would need to endure would be much worse than having one sugar daddy that you suck off MAYBE once a day. Such a person would likely have to work in a brothel and be raped several times a day, being unable to decline clients (though realistically, they'd like to decline them all). Having a sugar daddy that actually pays enough to live is extremely rare and not an option for most people. Sugar daddies do not represent the majority of people's experience with prostitution.

But gay for pay doesn't meet that definition of rape either. Nobody in the West needs to do porn for basic survival.

You are absolutely wrong. Clearly poverty is still a huge problem in the West especially in the U.S.; porn producers prey on broke people to make amateur porn and once you've done porn it's hard to do anything else for money. Anyone who knows you've done porn or just stumbles upon it online can send it to your employer and everyone you know, ruining your life/career. This is true for everyone who does porn, but if you're a big name in porn you have next to no chance of getting out.

Yeah, I still don't buy it. I don't believe for a second that poverty is the driving force for most of these well-fed, muscular young men to join a porn company.

A lot of these "well-fed, muscular young men" end up dying an early death from steroid use. Even when these people aren't in extreme poverty, they're generally the working poor and get tempted by an easy payday before they realize it's nearly impossible to get out, which is why so many die before they ever do.

Nearly impossible to get out? Just by going through the Sean Cody and Corbin Fisher back catalogue I could find you a thousand examples of young men who did porn and stopped (without dying).

Yeah, young men have high rates of substance abuse deaths these days, whether or not they do porn.

Yeah, young men have high rates of substance abuse deaths these days, whether or not they do porn.

Then explain the massively higher rates of substance abuse and deaths from it by current and former porn stars.

I'm not familiar with them but after a quick search, it looks like Sean Cody is very selective about their hiring process and might actually treat the actors well, which is good. Obviously not everyone who does porn is going to end up dead, but the average life expectancy for a gay porn star is 25 https://sdlgbtn.com/news/2016/01/04/recent-epidemic-gay-porn-stars-dying-young-more-lgbt-support-needed

You haven't shown any evidence for "massively higher rates of substance abuse and deaths" among gay porn performers, and if that is the case it's probably because the kind of people who do drugs are more likely to do porn, especially to pay for drugs.

"The average life expectancy for a gay porn star is 25." Um, how about we put off this conversation until you've passed a statistics class.

You haven't sourced any of your claims. Studies on this subject are sparse because there isn't much funding for them. However, young gay porn stars die from drug overdoses very frequently, as shown in the link I used, and porn stars have said that drug use is rampant in the industry.

I'm guessing you didn't bother to read what I linked again. That stat is from the CDC. I should have specific that that stat is specifically for gay porn stars in the U.S.

I gave you the studies. If you don't care, don't read them. I'm done spoon-feeding you the information.

Lol no that article cited the CDC for male life expectancy, not gay porn performer life expectancy.

Oh dear, that was a colossal fail of reading comprehension. Nobody should take you seriously.
