Nobody in the West needs to do porn for basic survival.

You are absolutely wrong. Clearly poverty is still a huge problem in the West especially in the U.S.; porn producers prey on broke people to make amateur porn and once you've done porn it's hard to do anything else for money. Anyone who knows you've done porn or just stumbles upon it online can send it to your employer and everyone you know, ruining your life/career. This is true for everyone who does porn, but if you're a big name in porn you have next to no chance of getting out.

Yeah, I still don't buy it. I don't believe for a second that poverty is the driving force for most of these well-fed, muscular young men to join a porn company.

A lot of these "well-fed, muscular young men" end up dying an early death from steroid use. Even when these people aren't in extreme poverty, they're generally the working poor and get tempted by an easy payday before they realize it's nearly impossible to get out, which is why so many die before they ever do.

Nearly impossible to get out? Just by going through the Sean Cody and Corbin Fisher back catalogue I could find you a thousand examples of young men who did porn and stopped (without dying).

Yeah, young men have high rates of substance abuse deaths these days, whether or not they do porn.

I'm not familiar with them but after a quick search, it looks like Sean Cody is very selective about their hiring process and might actually treat the actors well, which is good. You haven't shown any evidence for "massively higher rates of substance abuse and deaths" among gay porn performers, and if that is the case it's probably because the kind of people who do drugs are more likely to do porn, especially to pay for drugs.

You haven't sourced any of your claims. Studies on this subject are sparse because there isn't much funding for them. However, young gay porn stars die from drug overdoses very frequently, as shown in the link I used, and porn stars have said that drug use is rampant in the industry.

Yeah I misread that which I addressed in the other thread. Currently working on something else which I should be dedicating more of my time to instead of talking with an idiot who can't be bothered to read the sources I linked.
