It's the "live and let live" bullshit. Some groups try to follow that social rule, but they get bulldozed if they are neutral and aren't loud "allies".

Also, "silence means consent" applies: if you do not voice your objection to something, then it is assumed that you support it.

If a person with bulimia wants you to call them fatty, because they really identify with that term, do you do it?

Just use their pudgy pronouns, it makes them feel better.

Tip of the spear.

Then wait a few years to see who the genuinely compassionate ones were.

Or find out quickly, if they decide to detransition.

My friend's teen daughter was a cutter. Mom found out and got her to a doctor and had a long, long talk with her too.

Imagine had her mother said "it's who she is" and the doctor had simply given her some ointment to make the cuts heal faster so she could slice her skin open again?

What are you, cutterphobic??? Be nice. She likes cutting herself. It alleviates her dysphoria. In fact, we're going to buy her a set of steak knives for her birthday. /s

IMO so much of this stems from the push to be "kind" and "nice" to everyone you meet (especially aimed at women) and making it a strictly black and white concept where if you aren't kind and nice - words with vague and easily manipulated definitions - then you're mean and no one wants to be mean.

Except sometimes the nicest thing you can do for someone is be firm and honest, but in opposite land this is a horrible way to behave and on par with being an Actual Nazi.

I know this doesn't only affect women, but I see it the most in women, especially younger ones. They're so afraid of being labelled an unpleasant bitch that they bend over backwards to "treat people with kindness" without considering who their so-called kindness is hurting.

People are also so afraid of being "on the wrong side of history" they've got the brainrot, but that's a whole other problem.

TL;DR fuck kindness lol

Germans have a saying: “Nice is the little brother of Shitty”.

Like you said sometimes kind means saying the truth when it needs to be said. That’s what friends would do when your new style doesn’t suit you or toilet paper is stuck to your shoe. And kind means saying that a person cannot sing before said person tries to participate in some singing contest on live television or is deluded in any other way.

While I agree that 'affirmation' is not genuinely helpful, friends and family of trans-identified people are caught between a rock and a hard place. If they don't affirm, that person will likely cut them off and/or label them a transphobe and make their life hell. I don't doubt that many trans people are finding out that transition didn't solve their problems. I'm not sure how many are self-aware enough to realize that 'gender identity' is a fraud and that those who oppose it are 'genuinely compassionate'.

I suspect many are just doubling down on their belief that they are a persecuted minority and that their problems are the result of 'transphobia'.

Honestly the contemporary madness made me an atheist to appreciate religion. I get a sense that’s what it was created for in the first place - to contain human madness.

So instead of fighting them I’ll just accept it brings them solace and be genuinely happy for them. The issue with imposing their views onto others is still remaining and will have to be opposed as per usual.
