Did you see some of the other replies, by chance? I think it's a false equivalency-- humans and other species in nature are capable of the same phenomenon, same-sex attraction; but, humans are not capable of sex change like this tree is or like other species are. (If we WERE innately capable of sex change, there wouldn't be a need for medical transition, or it would look insanely different.)

The difference is that the tree can actually do it and not just make everyone call it something they know it will never be.
