Y'all keep saying this but no one has yet to provide proof. If it is true these users post cp, then why haven't y'all taken screenshots or screen recordings, and submitted them to the FBI, or better yet, the media.

Y'all said this about the Super Straight sub and I was on that sub even as it went banned. I was browsing new post and then when I refreshed, the sub was banned. Never saw any CP or porn in general on the sub.

The FBI isn't going investigate heresy. Rape and child molestation are serious accusations. So unless someone is able to provide a zip folder of undisputed evidence then I suggest dropping it.

From what I understand from the way r/GC was targeted stuff like CP rarely makes it way past the moderation onto the actual sub. The purpose is to demonstrate to the higher admins that these sites are problematic/white supremacist or whatever else they're trying to claim. The admins are the ones who can then shut the subreddit down and the regular users are none the wiser as to how or why the sub was banned.

If anyone has proof it will be people who have modded subs targeted by AHS but that depends on whether they kept an ongoing record of everything. I'm assuming once they and/or their sub is banned they no longer have a way of accessing anything that might be evidence.

This is why AHS continue to get away with these tactics. That and the fact reddit seems to be rotten from the top down.

So if the post don't make it to the actual sub, what is there to report? And would that mean the mods saw who was submitting the posts?

What you say sort of makes sense. When I was a mod of r/shoujoai, I never saw what was posted until it was posted.

Either way, maybe mods who've been ban ought to create a bait sub.

Y'all keep saying this but no one has yet to provide proof.

I don't disagree overall, however to counter someone's argument that X should be investigated with "There is no evidence" is kinda a circular argument. Obviously we can't go investigating everyone and their grandma for CP but the just saying "Why isn't there some news article about this thing you want investigated?" is not reason to not investigate something.

[–]SailorMoon2020 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Who said anything about a news article?

I said, "submit the evidence to the FBI or even better yet, the media". This is another way of saying, 'the public out cries increase when more media attention is brought to a situation'.

Again, the FBI does not go off of heresy. And with America's sexist past: the Salem Witch Trials, America's racist past: lynching based off of false rape accusations, America's homophobic past: the San Antonio 5, this is a good thing.

If what y'all say is true about this cp then obtaining evidence should be a walk in the park.

Who said anything about a news article? ....

I said, "submit the evidence to .... the media".

It is really annoying when people say "When did I say that?" when I'm simply taking your own logic to it's reasonable conclusion. The next sentence you wrote down pretty much makes your first part moot.

the Salem Witch Trials,

I am so tired of people always desperate to bring up black & white photos (in this case drawings) to prove a point. Can we please try to limit our examples to the previous 2 maybe 3 generations please? Why are you even discussing something that happened in the 17th century?

If what y'all say is true about this cp then obtaining evidence should be a walk in the park.

Again, I don't really believe in the CP stuff either. I just hated your logic of "the lack of evidence (because lack of investigation) means there shouldn't be investigations (because lack of evidence)". It's just a very dismissive handwave of a problem.

[–]SailorMoon2020 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Again, in America there needs to be evidence for an investigation. Heresy is not case worthy in the American juridical system.

I also didn't say "lack of evidence", I said "evidence". Lack of evidence is enough cause to warrant an investigation which does mean they'll be just cause to issue a warrant for arrest.

In case you were curious-- I replied it to the other user already, but here is a video by a trans person who used to participate on AHS left after realizing that Bardfinn was encouraging users to post CP: https://www.bitchute.com/video/vlTJnwygrFhZ/

I also would like to see more evidence. Helena, the former mod of r/detrans, had a twitter thread about it which is where I got this video from.

[–]insta 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Thanks for the post. Bitchute as per usual isn't loading (such a garbage website) but I'll bookmark and try tomorrow.

I was really just wanting to comment more on the overall point of people not wanting investigations because lack of evidence, but the lack of evidence is because there aren't investigations. I fucking hate this line of reasoning as it is pure just appealing to the powers-that-be.

Sometimes (I'd argue often) things don't get investigated because certain people don't want them investigated. So the fact that powers-that-be can squash investigations or studies into a topic isn't logic enough to not investigate them. It doesn't automatically mean all investigations are worthy but this handwave dismissive attitude is so puddle deep and it needs to be called out.

No problem!

Completely agree.

I'm not against what you have to say. Yes, if there's something going on, there should be evidence presented, and much of internet culture revolves around on sharing screencaps. However, screenshots and screen recordings aren't actual evidence and are meaningless by themselves because of how easily they can be faked.

[–]SailorMoon2020 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

And that person will be charged with fabricating evidence...

In America, all tips and evidence that is submitted to authorities must be investigated. If it is shown a witness and/or tip is fabricated then that person will be charged.

Also in America, screenshots and screen recordings are in fact evidence that can be presented to the courts.

Video by a whistleblower (trans person) who quit AHS after realizing that Bardfinn, a mod, was encouraging users to post CP: https://www.bitchute.com/video/vlTJnwygrFhZ/

And no, I don't have any zip folders of CP to show you, lol.

[–]SailorMoon2020 2 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 3 fun -  (4 children)

Encouraging isn't the same as doing; therefore, not considered by American law.

There has been exceptions such as in the case of the girlfriend who encouraged her boyfriend to commit suicide.

This is heresy. Again, not worthy of investigation.

[–]reluctant_commenter 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (3 children)

Heresy? What does that even mean...? This is not a religious issue. Do you mean "hearsay"?

Reddit apparently got huge because of its r/jailbait subreddit. And Ghislaine Maxwell used to be a powermod on Reddit. There are plenty of CP red flags, but if you want to believe in a more rosy picture of Reddit, go for it. I can't say I'm excited about it either, it's disturbing to think about.

[–]usehername 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

I tried to look up r/jailbait to see how bad it was since I doubt I could be more scarred than I actually am, but looks like it's gone. I've been told by men (in the past, I'm legal now kill me) that I was "jailbait", but it looks like it's been taken down. Do you think they originated that term? Where did you hear that reddit got huge from that subreddit?

Ugh, that's so gross, I'm sorry. That happened to me too when I was underage.

Do you think they originated that term?

That's actually a good question, I'm not sure.

Where did you hear that reddit got huge from that subreddit?

I've heard a lot of people say it but it's something I haven't fact checked yet, myself. I probably should've worded my original comment a little more clearly. It's somewhere on my list of things to do, though. I do know that porn was and is a massive driver of traffic to Reddit, and that there used to be a lot of CP on Reddit, til they changed the policy to disallow it; I don't know whether, numbers-wise, it actually was the most revenue- or traffic-generating porn category.

[–]SailorMoon2020 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I'm just realistic when it comes to American law.

Maxwell is allegedly tied to Reddit.

No laws were broken with r/jailbait. The negative publicity is what took the sub down and brought up numerous clones in its wake.

I don't know why so many peeps don't understand that the American law doesn't go off of 'hearsay'. It goes off of just cause.

If you want that to change then talk to your local legislators. That way all you have to do is cry cp and that person will get arrested. Certainly the practice won't lead to unjust, bias profiling.
