Good, because here in the US they shout over everyone else...

I am always amazed when I hear someone shocked or outraged that a LGB person could be conservative or even... gasp... politically indifferent. Same-sex-attracted people do not come out of the womb as communists. We are just people, who happen to have the attribute of being attracted to the same sex. Saying "gay people must be liberal" is a prescriptive stereotype. It doesn't matter that I personally disagree with most (little-c) conservative views, I do not want my character to be judged on the basis of my sexual orientation, not in a negative OR a positive way. /rant

Not to mention that communism is just bad. People always end up going after the wrong things when trying to improve the economy and help people. The best economies in the world, including a lot of "socialist" countries that people love to point out becasue they have "universal" healthcare are the most free economies in the world. In fact, some Northern European countries have more free economies than the US. The problem isn't level of freedom or communism, the problem is what we regulate and how. In the US, we regulate things poorly and often regulate the wrong things. There should indeed be programs to help people, especially when their job becomes obsolete, but then people take it too far and assume that more control is better. We end up throwing government money around and wasting it all, then whining that we need more. If we just cut out the fat and used our tax budget properly, we'd easily be able to build the best economy in the world with the lowest rate of human suffering in our borders, but we relegate too little money to helping people and then waste it all before actually helping anyone who actually needs help.

Honestly, a lot of our regulation actively harms the average American and if we got rid of these stupid regulations that only help the rich, we'd all be better off (well, except the billionaires, but they can go fuck themselves).

And on the unemployment issue: To say that there aren't jobs for everyone implies that there is no work that needs to be done. That we have reached Utopia and that only a portion of people need to actually work to keep everyone living in the pinacle of luxury. If we aren't all living in our own personal utopia, then there is more work that can be done to get us closer to it, and those who aren't working should be doing that and getting paid for it. We're whining that things aren't getting done and then whining that there are people not contributing. JUST PUT THE UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE TO WORK DOING THE THING! How the fuck do we get to the point where there is work without people to do it and also people without work to do? It's completely absurd! It's like a child bitching that they're hungry while sitting in front of a plate full of food, EAT YOUR GOD DAMN VEGETABLES!

They have been for years. They've been trying to get the "gay and lesbian" part of the name dropped and make it just Sydney Mardi Gras. They have been trying to take over the board for the past few years and now have 2 members on the 8 member board (Charlie Murphy and Alex Bouchet). This year they are holding a rebel "Mardi Gras March" on Saturday.

They actually had an announcement of their march a few hours ago (check out @PrideinProtest on facebook) and they were standing in front of a trans flag and they spoke about every far-left cause under the sun except gay and lesbian rights.

I can't imagine having to sit through board meetings with such insufferable narcissistic pricks. The amusing part is that if they managed to take over the board, the organisation would collapse within the year from all the pathetic in-fighting between the personality disordered members over who is more oppressed and of course their inability to fund the fucking thing.

Sounds very similar to what happened to Auckland Pride a few years back. This video lays out what happened there. It's not the best quality produced video but it clearly lays out how these take overs happen and how they destroy everything in their wake.
