From steroids to estrogen... what in the midlife crisis hell is going on!! Why aren't 40+ year old women "switching genders" at an alarming rate?

Strange isn't it. What do middle-aged alpha males and 13 year old K-pop fans have in common that causes them to believe they are the opposite sex and same-sex attracted.

Look at his ‘before’. He was a typical bloke. People who are neck deep into femininity or masculinity at some point loose their shit cause hyperfemininity and hypermasculinity is not as natural as people want you to think. There’s plenty of studies showing that, behavior wise, men and women are much more similar than different. And if you really think about it, it makes sense.. if hypermasculinity and hyperfemininity were natural then it would have no need for us to be indoctrinated into it since birth and taught how we should behave and what we should like based on our sex, cause nature doesn’t need reminders to follow its own course.

So people who are too deep into the character they think - and were taught - they should play are very likely to breakdown and go from one extreme to the other. You also see this with ex-religious fanatics (or people who were raised by religious fanatics), once they leave their religions they can’t just live a balanced life, they need other ideologies to be obsessed with, they become hardcore vegans, or very annoying queer activists, or partycrazy drug-sex addicts etc etc.

I found this 2019 study on the differences between androphilic(male-attracted) and gynephilic(female-attracted) MtF when it comes to how old they are when they are dysphoric and when they transition, and I think it might give some insight on the prevalence of some apparent transition spikes for certain age ranges.

edit: The first spike in the twenties can be easily explained as being the general time most transitioners who became dysphoric mostly in their teens finally possessed the funds to do so. Once whomever intended to transition for those years has transitioned, the level drops off almost completely. I'm not sure yet why there's another apparent spike in the forties. And the relative lack of gender dysphoria preceding the 2nd spike as compared to the 1st spike is curious.

Mid life crisis possibly.

From steroids to estrogen...

A fair number of AGP try to "man up" in a stereotypical fashion such as becoming a police officer, joining the military, etc. They're trying to, well, they're trying to "purge" this part of themselves.

EDIT:

I no longer hold this belief. I believe that these individuals are in fact quite topically interested in things such as policing, the law, and military weapons and tactics. These are masculine interests that fit their style of cognition. I no longer believe that these careers are a desire to "purge," but are in fact legitimate interests. The individuals in question will however retroactively say that this was an attempt at purging, but it's an inauthentic statement.

Do you think it's that? All those professions too are just regular bloke professions.
